For young men and women, job seekers and young entrepreneurs in district Marowijne at Moengo!
This Hands on Stick welding training provided by the Public & Private Center of Excellence for Technology Foundation (Stichting P²CET) in collaboration with the Pansa Machine Shop N.V. and sponsored by Alcoa Foundation.
The Mission of Stichting Public & Private Center of Excellence for Technology (Stichting P²CET) is to provide competency-based training for the purpose of creating a national and international competent and competitive workforce.
And the vision of Stichting Public & Private Center of Excellence for Technology (Stichting P²CET) is to be the model to develop human resources in partnerships, to meet the needs of the dynamic industries, critical for the economic vitality.
Community members in rural areas, either after completing their primary education or dropouts, have little chance to continuing education to learn an occupation because of their financial situation and the distance to the schools, language barriers or the fact that they dropped out of school.
This program will definitely benefit these disadvantaged young men and women, vulnerable groups and young entrepreneurs by providing hands-on competency-based training in their own community, with a customized curriculum based on the results of the gap assessment per participant, eliminating the language barrier, giving them a chance to become highly skilled workers/professionals or to become entrepreneurs by setting up their own businesses.
This program will create jobs and a solid market value for the participants.
The target population to be trained in two year is 120.
